As of Sunday afternoon, the fire burning south of Browning in northern Montana (Spotted Eagle Fire - Family Peak Complex Wildfire) has grown significantly and is not yet contained in any measurable amount. We've got the latest from the Lewis & Clark National Forest:
The Cabin Gulch Fire is actively burning in the Deep Creek Canyon area east of Townsend. It is currently estimated to be between 50-100 acres in size, and is moving in the Northeast direction toward Cabin Gulch Timber Sale units.
The next time you visit the 6-Mile Drainage, it's going to look different. But after the devastating wildfire this summer, at least you're allowed back in. Details from the Forest Service here:
There was a massive fire last night at the Country Mall Antiques on Huffine Lane. It started as a vehicle fire that quickly spread to the building. People reported seeing large flames and lots of smoke. Here's the press release from the Gallatin Media Center.

The National Forest Service has issued an update tonight on area wildfires. With prolonged hot weather and not very much rain, fire danger remains moderate to high in our area.
Tuesday evening a house fire burned the entire top floor of an apartment complex on Michael Grove in Bozeman. Details are still slim on the cause and the damages. I live just down the street from the building and I was able to snap a few photos of the damage.
Bozeman Fire Chief Jason Schrauger just informed us of a fire burning out at the Straw Bale Maze on North 7th Avenue. The fire is under control but because it is hay, it will be smoldering for a while longer. We are unclear if this will affect the mazes operating hours Halloween weekend...
The investigation continues into the Bozeman apartment fire on Tuesday that killed two residents. Montana Red Cross is working through the hours to help the 15 people now homeless from the tragedy. Montana Red Cross accepts donations as every dollar helps and 91 cents of each dollar goes directly to it's humanitarian services.
