Heavy snow and high winds are expected over all southwest Montana passes Friday night and most of Saturday. Travel could be dangerous at times.

According to the National Weather Service:

WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

  • WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches possible.
  • Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
  • The worst conditions will be over MacDonald Pass.
  • WHERE...Butte, Georgetown Lake, Highway 12 Garrison to Elliston, Homestake Pass, MacDonald Pass.
  • WHEN...From Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.
  • IMPACTS...Travel could be affected.
