Should Montana Be The 14th State To Make This State Official? Yes

Montana is full of great things that we call "our own". For example, we have a Montana state fruit, which is the Huckleberry, thanks to a group of school kids who helped push to have it named our official fruit.

Montana has an official song. Do I personally think it could be revamped and a little more modernized? Yes. But I am just one person with an opinion.

We have a state bird which is the Sternella neglecta, aka, the Western Meadowlark. But to be fair it really could be the magpie considering you see them everywhere you go. They are the black long-tailed birds that look blue when the sun hits them just right.

Montana's unofficial food is the elk/bison burger. Why wouldn't it be? Juicy and delicious with all the fixings on top. I'm in!

The official state drink? Well, that would be the whiskey ditch, which is basically whiskey water, just with a fancy name.

So what is Montana missing? A state dog! It's clear we love dogs here. Everywhere you go, especially in the summertime, you are guaranteed to run into a dog. Even at some of our local restaurants that allow your four-legged friend out on their patio.

What should the official state dog of Montana be? 

Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepards are the top three most popular dog breeds in Montana, so it would only make sense to choose one of those as the Official Dog Of Montana.

If I had to pick, I would go with the Golden Retriever, but in all fairness, the top three are all wonderful.
