Should ESPN Gameday Come to Montana? Yes, But Not For The Griz.
I don't want to 'jinx' anything, but I can't be the only one that is starting to think "we might be seeing something here" when it comes to the Bobcat Football Team.
Another big win on the road this past weekend against Eastern Washington should certainly start some folks using the "s" word.
Special.
I know there is a huge push coming from our friends out west to try and get ESPN Gameday to be at the brawl of the wild. In fact, they've even gone so far as to take the legendary M that sits above the Campus in Missoula and turn it into GaMeday to try and get ESPN's attention. I read comment after comment on how "Missoula deserves this" and how "this game is huge".
Listen, I would absolutely love to see the Gameday crew in Missoula for the Brawl of the Wild, but not because "Missoula deserves it", because Montana State is having an amazing season and this could be the icing on the cake as far as the regular season goes. And I'm not the only one who thinks so.
Here is the other reason, Montana State, ranked #4 in the FCS prior to the win, went on the road and beat the #5 team. Meanwhile, the number 2 ranked team (North Dakota State) lost yesterday. All of that added up makes for a compelling case for Gameday to come to Montana, not for the Griz...but for the Cats.
I know, I know, one game at a time and I agree. Next up, Idaho this coming Saturday at home at 1 pm. It will be the final regular season home game and I'm predicting another sell out crowd.
Let's go Bobcats!
