If you have been thinking about selling a car or truck in Montana, right now is a great time to get rid of it.

The price of used cars has been through the roof lately, and many people that have listed a vehicle for sale in Montana have had success. I recently listed my 1995 Toyota pickup for sale and ended up getting more for it than I was asking.

I was blown away by how many people were interested in purchasing my pickup when I first listed it for sale. I received over 300 inquiries in 3 days. A person offered me $1,000 more than my asking price if I agreed to hold it for them, so that's what I did. Literally, the used car market in Montana is on fire right now, so if you're looking to sell a used car, you need to strike when the iron is hot.

However, if you're trying to purchase a used car, the struggle is real. Due to the lack of used car inventory across the country, finding a reliable used car is harder than ever and many people are listing vehicles for far more than they are worth. It's definitely a seller's market.

My story isn't unique. There have been a lot of similar stories about vehicles selling for outrageous prices. If you have an extra vehicle that you don't use on a regular basis, it might be a good idea to think about selling it. There's definitely someone out there that wants to buy it. Your best bet is to sell your vehicle to a private party instead of trading it in at a dealership.
