Hospitalized Pink Forced to Cancel Second Australia Show
Pink's trip Down Under as part of the latest leg of her Beautiful Trauma tour is turning out to be a bit traumatic, indeed. Just days after the singer shut down rumors she canceled a concert date to enjoy a beach vacation, she's been hospitalized and forced to cancel a second show.
Live Nation — the company behind her production — tweeted that the "What About Us" singer has experienced some serious health issues across the last few days.
“Pink was admitted to hospital in Sydney on Sunday night, suffering from dehydration,” the company wrote on its official account. “She was treated and discharged. She was readmitted to hospital today and diagnosed with a gastric virus. Pink will remain in hospital overnight, continuing her treatment and recovery.”
Late last week, Pink was forced to explain that she hadn't canceled a different show in Australia to vacation, but to tend to her sick family members.
“I don’t need to clear this up, but out of respect for my fans I will attempt it. I scheduled this tour meticulously, trying to do what was best for my children, while also putting on the best and most physically demanding and beautiful show of my life," she said.
"This break in Byron has been scheduled since 2017, as a way to get outside the hotel and the winter and have some time with my children.”
Pink added that — for the most part — she can push through obstacles to perform, but sometimes, it's too much, and she noted she'd be doing the audience a disservice if she tried to sing while under the weather.
“I’ve already been sick twice (kids as well) on this Australian tour, but the first time we got sick, I was able to push through," she said. "This time, what these parasite paparazzi don’t show you, is two doctor visits in Byron on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick’s, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil, a screaming baby in the middle of the night, every night, while mama gives him warm baths and tells her daughter everything is fine.”
