Here's How Southwest is Different Than Other Airlines

With Southwest Airlines announcing that they will begin servicing Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, Dave & Ally invited their Southwest pilot friend Kurt Klewin on the XL Morning show to give them the inside scoop on the airline. Kurt is a Bozeman High and MSU graduate, and he's been with Southwest Airlines for the last 16 year. Here's some cool things about Southwest you may not know.

Southwest Airlines doesn't charge extra for your baggage. They will accept up to two checked bags for Free as long as they are under 50 lbs. Bags weighing from 51 to 100 lbs and oversized items in excess of 62 inches but no more than 80 inches are charged $75 per item one-way.

Southwest Airlines does not charge a change fee. If you change your flight itinerary, you just pay for any difference.

Southwest Airlines offers Free in-flight entertainment. Movies are available to watch from your browser without having to download. Live TV channels are available, too, for Free, and you do not have to purchase WiFi to access them. They are available on your favorite viewing device.

Should you want in-flight internet, you can purchase it for $8, and it is good for any Southwest flights you are on that day.

Southwest Airlines allows you to pick your own seat. Once onboard, simply choose any available seat and stow your carry-on items in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

Southwest's service out of Bozeman will begin on May 27, 2020, with four flights a day to Las Vegas and Denver. They are expected to move up to 6 flights, with additional stops to be announced at a later date.
