News You Need To Know: Attacks In France
Whether or not you're a "news" type of person, the attacks in France have an impact on the world - this includes the US. Attacks, hostage situations and dangerous statements like we "want to die as martyrs" are just part of this terrifying situation.
It started in Paris on Wednesday when two masked gunmen attacked the office of weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo killing 12 people before fleeing.
Following the horrific attack, news broke all over the world and French security forces launched a major manhunt. They found that two brothers were behind the attack. They stormed in to the newspaper offices during a meeting and just started firing shouting "We have avenged the prophet" and claimed they represented al Queda. A woman in the building said she was spoken to in fluent French and the masked men called out some of the victims names.
As of this morning, the brothers have been identified and located - which turned into a hostage situation.
