Montana State University recently sent a message out to season ticket holders.

The Bobcat Club continues to support MSU student-athletes, and we hope you will too.

The Big Sky Conference announced that the 2020 fall football season has been postponed to spring of 2021.

In response, Bobcat Athletics issued the following statement.

Bobcat Athletics continues to be committed to the safety and well-being of student-athletes, coaches and fans and supports the Big Sky Conference in this decision.

The Montana State program released the video below in response to the decision.

Bobcat Athletics wouldn't be possible without support from fans and season ticket holders. Season ticket holders and athletic donors provide support to over 350 student-athletes at Montana State University.

The program says the primary goal is to reduce the risk of student-athletes receiving diminished support and opportunities to be successful. Bobcat Athletics remains fiscally responsible for the educational support including scholarships, housing and wellness expenses for our student-athletes… regardless of what this year's competition seasons look like.

Bobcat Athletics will incur the following out-of-pocket expenses this year.

  • $2M in scholarships (including tuition, fees, book, room and board)
  • $600K in medical spending and insurance, and another half a million dollars in food and nutrition.

As a result, Bobcat Athletics say that they need your help, and that the easiest way to support the program is to keep your season tickets for the spring 2021 season.

If you've already purchased your 2020 season tickets, all payments, including ticket payment and any applicable required seat donation will automatically be applied to the upcoming spring season. Double priority points will also be allocated to your Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship account.

However, if you make any changes to your account, such as request a refund, it will affect your priority points moving forward.

Bobcat Athletics is working to accommodate the different financial situations of all fans. The program will also offer the option to defer payment to the fall 2021 season or to request full or partial refunds.

Any requests for a full or partial refund must be made on the form below and received by October 1. Refunds will take 6-8 weeks to process from the time of the request.

There is no need to submit form if you would like to keep your tickets for the spring of 2021.

If reduced capacity or reduced number of home games comes into play this spring, account balances will be assessed at the conclusion of the season. It is important to note that current season ticket holders (not including those who request a refund or deferment) will be given priority for seats should we be required by local and state health officials to reduce capacity.

There has been no announcement on how tailgating and parking will be affected, but MSU will release more information when more details are available.
