There are so many great mascots to choose from but this one might be the most iconic one in the whole state of Montana.

MaxPreps came out with a Top 15 ranking of the best high school mascots and there are some incredible ones but a Montana high school landed on the list at #13 and let's just say they definitely deserve to be on the list.

Chinook High School is located just east of Havre, Montana and is a Class C school but their mascot has a long history with the town of Chinook. There is a huge sugar beet factory in the town that was built back in the 1920's and help buy jerseys for the boys basketball team so they adopted the name. That's a pretty special history behind a one of a kind mascot.

Montana doesn't have a lot of original mascots but there are some definite winners to go along with the Chinook Sugarbeeters. There is the Deer Lodge Wardens, to go along with the state prison, Augusta Elks, surprisingly no one else took this name for their high school, and one of my former opponents in high school the Libby Loggers, who was a huge logging industry back in the day.

Mascots can hold a deep history with a town and it's great to see that one as iconic and unique and the Chinook Sugarbeeters can make a list of the best ones in the nation. That's pretty darn cool.

The only team on the list that I like better is the Frankfort Hot Dogs, that is an incredible mascot.
