Only a lucky, small group got to see Bob Weir and John Mayer perform together at Pine Creek Lodge on August 8th. But it's cool to see that Bob Weir made the most of his time in Montana playing and relaxing alongside the Yellowstone River. He certainly deserves it.

Montanans are no strangers to famous people vacationing in our backyard. Often, they aren't spoken about in the fondest of terms. But Bob Weir is different. Not only did he take time out to play a benefit for our Livingston locals, he's an iconic musician that has impacted the lives of so many. Unless you're just too young to have caught one, just about everyone I know has a Dead show story.

The first of three "Rise for the River" benefit concerts at Pine Creek Lodge south of Livingston was held on August 8th. John Mayer, who calls Paradise Valley home, put together these three special engagements to benefit area residents affected by the historic, destructive flooding of the Yellowstone River.

Bob Weir was his special guest for the first show. Tickets for all of the engagements sold out in minutes when the surprise announcement was made. After an incredible season of touring with Dead & Company, having the two together in our backyard was an amazing surprise.

It's pretty cool to see Weir enjoying what Montana has to offer, and to get a glimpse into his Big Sky experience. One post even showed him appreciating the very river that flooded and brought him here to Montana for the fundraiser.

Another showed Weir getting in a serene-looking workout in Montana's best gym—the outdoors. So Bob, from all of us...THANK YOU for coming and performing for such a good cause. We hope you enjoyed your time here with your friend and our neighbor.
