According to Thrillist, the FDA sent a letter to popular sandwich shop Jimmy John's accusing the chain of serving tainted ingredients linked to food-borne illness outbreaks.

The FDA alleges the sandwich chain to using 'adulterated' fresh produce that has been linked to five outbreaks of salmonella and E.coli outbreaks in recent years.

The outbreaks are linked to clover sprouts and cucumbers.

Jimmy John's has 15 days to show the FDA they have new measures to make sure their produce is safe for consumption.
