It was only a matter of time before snow started accumulating at lower elevations in Montana. Mountain ranges have received quite a bit of snow so far this season, but lower elevations have just been getting rain. Well, that's about to change.
it's not uncommon for snow to fall at lower elevations in the state during the month of October, and many Montana residents were excited to enjoy beautiful fall weather before temperatures dropped below freezing. Next week, many places in Montana will receive their first snow of the season.
According to the Weather Channel, rain is in the forecast for Bozeman next Monday with snow expected later in the week. Here's a look at the extended forecast.

With temperatures below freezing in the forecast, roads will most likely be slick during the early morning hours. Snow is forecasted in Bozeman Tuesday through Thursday next week. Early estimates indicate that snow accumulation won't be much more than an inch, but that's enough to create slick conditions.
If you don't have much experience driving in snow or on ice-covered roads, it's important to drive slowly and give yourself extra time to reach your destination. Once you lose control, regaining traction can be nearly impossible.
