It seems that we as a society can't get enough of what makes criminals tick. From serial killers to pick pockets, we as a nation have become engrossed in stories about criminals, but what if some of those "criminals" weren't actually guilty?
Now, Montana certainly has a case or two that has made national headlines where the people accused where guilty (Unabomber anyone?) we all know that there are folks who are incarcerated that have been falsely accused.
A popular True Crime series following stories here in Montana is called "The Cascade Effect" and can be found on TikTok. The site features stories about Cascade County here in Montana which is the home of Great Falls.
One of the claims made on the page is that Montana ranks 2nd in the nation for wrongful convictions. The number one state? Illinois, which of course includes the city of Chicago. So, how does a state with just over a million people rank 2nd in the country when it comes to wrongful convictions?
Apparently, that is one of the purposes of the page. To educate Montanans on what is happening and how it is effecting families across Big Sky Country. It should be noted that there are some pretty heavy accusation made and those are the opinions of those making them.
