Before I dive into the topic of this article, I want to point out that I am not making this political at all. How you vote and how you live is totally up to you. I am not here to try to change your thinking.

Having said that, let's talk about what some are saying is a growing problem in Montana and Bozeman.

Is the Cartel in Montana?

According to a retired FBI specialist, there is a growing presence of Cartel members in the state, including here in Bozeman. What does that mean? Well, the agent says that in order to better protect yourself, you will want to do the following.

  • Lock the front and back doors
  • Lock the car doors

While that seems like common sense, for many, they have memories of living in a small town where you didn't have to do those things. The truth? Bozeman and Montana are different than they were even five or ten years ago.

There have been reports of the Cartel in Montana before, one report stated that they were using the reservations as a place to conduct their business. Now, whether that's true or not, I don't know. What I do know is that there is a growing concern amongst part of the population that we have a problem and something needs to be done.
