While it certainly wasn't unanimous, there was little question of who the voters wanted between the two candidates. Former and current President Trump not only won the electoral college but also the popular vote in what would become a lopsided victory in favor of the GOP.

Since that time, much is been said, broadcast, and written about the 45th and 47th President. One thing is for sure, whether you love him or hate him, he knows how to get a reaction.

While Montana is considered a red state, places like Bozeman and Missoula are much more liberal than the rest of Big Sky Country. Having said that, the President won the state in big numbers, in fact, this last election saw a long-time U.S. Senator Jon Tester lose his seat to newcomer Tim Sheehy.

So how are Trump's numbers in Montana now?

According to one source, the current approval rate for President Trump is between 50 and 55% throughout the state of Montana. While this may come as a bit of a surprise, our neighboring states seem to think that our Commander And Chief is doing a bang-up job. Both Idaho and Wyoming are two of ten states that have a percentage of over 55 percent.

Is it possible that some of the President's supporters are not happy with decisions being made for Montana? It's certainly possible. The President has made some choices that have made more than a few Montanans raise an eyebrow or two. Among them the cutting of jobs with the National Park and Forest Services as well as tariffs put on Canada.

Those choices will no doubt have an impact on Montana and its residents. The question is, will it be a negative or a positive impact?

As you can guess, that depends on who you ask. Those who are big fans of the President have taken to social media to defend him and his choices while his critics continue banging the drum of how horrible he is.  The truth is, its probably too soon to tell how these choices will affect Montana and its people.
