Is it Bozeman? Missoula? Whitefish? Big Sky? No, no, no, and no. While you could argue for all four of those, the richest city in Montana with at least a population of 5000 residents is located just outside of Bozeman.

According to Montana Demographics, the richest city in Montana is Four Corners.

The data says that the average income of a resident of Four Corners is just over 140 thousand dollars a year, making it the richest city in the state.  Once again, that is based on a population of 5000 residents or more.

What if you take away the population aspect?

If you take the population factor out, the richest city in Montana is Fords Creek Colony, a Hutterite community in Fegus County. The average income there is around 340 thousand dollars per year.
