Is This Famous Dish The Most Popular For Thanksgiving In Montana?
Now that November has arrived, it won't be long before thousands of Montanans will gather to count their blessings and celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. Everyone has different traditions, but they're all about enjoying time together.
Of course, the highlight of the day is a meal that traditionally features a turkey, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. So, what is the most popular Thanksgiving dish in Montana?
Well, I can tell you what the most searched dish is, and it's not something I'm particularly fond of. According to Food52, the most searched dish in Montana is...green bean casserole.
O,h and here is something for you to ponder; Montana is the only state in the U.S where green bean casserole is the most searched dish. Mashed potatoes are extremely popular, as are sweet potatoes, pecan pie, and jello.
So why is green bean casserole such a big deal in Montana?
I have zero clue, but I know for some folks, this is an absolute must-have for Thanksgiving, and of course, there are different ways that you can make it. Although, it seems that they all have a few things in common: green beans, cream soup base, and fried onions on top.
As I mentioned above, I've never been a fan. Green bean casserole has been a Wolf family tradition at Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember and I've always passed on it.
However, last year, my co-worker took on the challenge to come up with a green bean casserole that I would actually like, and to my surprise, the mission was accomplished. I'm not sure what exactly was in it, but I know it was stuffed full of bacon and that seemed to do the trick.
