Hypnotic Brass Ensemble In Your Face.
More hip hop today? Sort of. All this chatter and excitement about the Dirty Dozen Brass Band playing the Emerson has brought to my mind another incredible brass group: The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. A pack of brothers out of chicago playing funky jazz and collaborating with hip hop greats has been churning out the music for years now. They dropped an incredible track on the Rhymesayers release by BK-One and Benzilla Radio Do Canibal with their delirious whirling melodies and ear-smacking beats. I myself found an incredible ’45 whilst record-rousing in Seattle and cannot get enough. If you want to consider an act worthy of the Emerson these boys would blast off the roof with their hellacious horns. Check the links and educate y’self on this nextness. Peace.
