Kit Harington and Rose Leslie’s Wedding Might Delay ‘Game of Thrones,’ and We Are Now Dead
We all felt queasy with Game of Thrones’ latest love scene, and not just for the incest. There’s also the matter of Kit Harington’s real-life fiancée Rose Leslie (RIP, Ygritte), but true love wins: Game of Thrones will shut down Season 8 production so the whole cast can celebrate those crazy kids’ nuptials, and – shut up – you’re crying.
Even as the eighth and final season has only begun a production that will last them into summer 2018, the King in the North evidently decreed that cast be allowed a day off for his and Rose Leslie’s wedding. Harington claimed as much on the Jonathan Ross Show (h/t RadioTimes), saying:
I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault actually’ … I was like, ‘You need to factor in a ‘Game of Thrones’ wedding by the way.’ They [the cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.
Granted, it isn’t as if every single Game of Thrones cast member works every day regardless, and there’s no explicit details of the wedding to suggest how, where or when production might need to accommodate anyone. Given how the weddings on Game of Thrones tend to go, it’s probably best certain cast, crew and creative get nowhere near it.
We’ll likely hear more as Harington and Leslie get closer to the big day, but at least one love story in this franchise gets a happy ending, right?
