It's true: Jon Snow and Ygritte are married!
Game of Thrones couple Kit Harington and Rose Leslie said their "I dos" in quite a royal wedding in Aberdeenshire, Scotland Saturday (June 23). The groom looked dapper in a traditional black suit and his bride dressed in a lace-sleeved gown as she was escorted down the aisle by her father.
While the twosome's on-screen love came to a harrowing end on the medieval fantasy series when Leslie's character was killed off in Season 4, the duo continued a private romance behind the scenes in 2012. It wasn't until 2016 that the stars went red carpet official as an item at London's Olivier Awards.
The couple announced their engagement in The Times of London last September.
In speaking of his betrothal, Harington admitted in an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show that he practically botched his proposal: "I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were sort of under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and ... I popped my question a bit early."
According to CNN, the newlyweds' GoT co-stars Maisie Williams, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Richard Madden and Peter Dinklage were among the guests in attendance for the celebration, which will be followed by a reception at Wardhill Castle, an estate owned by Leslie's family.
The British actor, a regular and favorite on the series, will reprise his role as Jon Snow in the eighth and final season of GoT next year.
