Gallatin Co. Shatters Single-Day COVID-19 Case Record With 286

On Thursday morning, the Gallatin City County Health Department reported 286 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Across the state, new cases of COVD-19 are surging.

The new cases reported Thursday morning reflect the number of new cases reported on Wednesday, November 11. In the past 7 days, Gallatin County has averaged 147.9 new confirmed cases per day.

Statewide, 962 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday morning by the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.

Data from the Gallatin City County Health Department shows that new reported cases of COVID-19 have been on the rise since early October. The majority of new cases have been within the 20-29 age group.

On Wednesday, the Montana Department of Health and Human Services released a report on COVID-19 hospital capacity, which shows that hospitals in Gallatin County are currently at 78% capacity.

Last week, The Gallatin City County Health Board voted to enact stricter restrictions for residents and businesses. The new health restrictions moved the mandatory closing time for bars, tasting rooms, distilleries, casinos, and restaurants two and a half hours earlier, from 12:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and limited group size at tables to 6 people.
