In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Montana Governor Steve Bullock announced a directive to provide relief to residents.

This directive prohibits landlords from evicting for non-payment of rent during the Shelter in Place order that is in effect until April 10th.  It also stops late fees, foreclosures on mortgages, and utilities will not be shut off during the order.

This directive comes just in time for many Montanas who are struggling due to layoffs, restricted hours and reduced pay.  With the beginning of the month tomorrow and rent, mortgage, and bills due, the directive gives Montana residents relief in these tough times. Bullock does remind residents that this isn't an opportunity to not pay your rent, mortgage, or bills but is aimed to be a reprieve.
