Since Walmart made its announcement, two additional retail heavyweights have decided to ban e-cigarettes as well.

Kroger, America's largest grocer announced Monday that it will also ban the sale of e-cigarettes within its stores. In Bozeman, the Smith's Food and Drug on 19th & Oak is one of the stores owned by Kroger.

The following is the statement issued by Kroger:

Kroger is discontinuing the sale of electronic nicotine delivery products, or e-cigarettes, at all store and fuel center locations due to the mounting questions and increasingly-complex regulatory environment associated with these products. The company will exit this category after selling through its current inventory.

Walgreens, which does not have a location in Bozeman, but does have locations in other cities in Montana, will stop selling e cigarettes as well.

Read the press release from Walgreens below:

We have made the decision to stop selling e-cigarette products at our stores nationwide as the CDC, FDA and other health officials continue to examine the issue. This decision is also reflective of developing regulations in a growing number of states and municipalities.

We spoke to a manager at the Smith's Food and Drug in Bozeman, and were told that employees are unsure of when the change will take place.
