Belgrade residents cast their votes Tuesday on how to handle fire protection going forward. The choices were to either annex into the Central Valley Fire District (CVFD) or have the city create and fund its own independent fire department.

According to the Gallatin County Election Department, Belgrade overwhelmingly voted for annexation. 97% voted for, while only 3% voted against.

The vote for annexation will keep the net tax rate for taxpayers the same and the firefighters, equipment, and facilities will remain unchanged.
