Anyone Else See This Crazy “Light Show” In Bozeman Last Night?
One of the benefits of living in "Big Sky Country" is...well, the big sky. We are certainly fortunate to have some pretty amazing views of all those magnificent stars that light up the sky here in Montana.
I was on my way to work this morning, and I noticed that the moon was incredibly large. I had heard that we were going to have a "Super Moon," but had totally forgotten about it until about 4:40 this morning when I was driving south on 19th, and there it was taking up a whole lot of the sky.
Let me just say this: I don't think I can remember ever seeing the moon looking that large. However, that wasn't the only thing happening in the sky overnight.
A user on Reddit posted what looks like some sort of shooting star or comet flying over Bozeman last night. Thanks to Orian Herman, who was hanging out at Genuine Ice Cream here in Bozeman and captured the video below.
That wasn't the only video that was captured. On the website Space Weather, there was another video from a different angle that was also very impressive.
So what was it? Well, that is being debated on Reddit as we speak. Some folks are saying it's just space junk, while others claim it's satellites. Of course, there have been a couple of folks that have suggested UFOs as a possible answer.
Whatever it is or was, it certainly made for an impressive sight.
