I lived in England for a year and can attest that dogs are not just man’s best friend over there. I think the same can be said of our dog-loving community here in the Gallatin Valley (can’t wait for Woofstock this weekend!). So, do you think this report rings true here as well?
I recently posted about my simple requests for a happy July 4th but forgot to mention the importantance of reflecting this time of year. This dawned on me last night while watching Saving Private Ryan. Every year sometime between Memorial Day and July 4th I like to watch a good American war flick. I know a movie could never truly give a guy like me, who has never officially served our country, an insight into what that’s like but it helps me remember why I have the rights and freedoms I do.
For me, it’s gotta be an early afternoon float on the Madison followed by a barbeque (at a neighbor’s house) that lasts into the night for a good bang (fireworks people, have some respect for our Independence Day).
With summer now officially underway, let me count the ways. This season is just so good for the mind and body (soak in that vitamin D while using the outdoors as your gym people). And my good people of Montana, don’t forget the sunscreen (it’s been a long winter once again)
Last Saturday was Portland Oregon’s version of the World Naked Bike Ride. World Naked Bike Ride is a globally observed event among hard-core bikers designed (get ready for this) to promote the use of bicycles for transportation. Nothing entices me to ride my bike more than seeing a naked person on a bike. That could be the number one thing you don’t want to see anyone doing naked.
