It’s been some time since we’ve had a noteworthy Simpsons couch gag, and like all animated greats, there’s room to borrow from the classics. If ever you wondered what Homer, Marge, Bart, Maggie and Lisa might have looked like as Disney cartoons, check out the latest gag from a revered Disney animator.

The latest Simpsons couch gag, this one accompanying April 24 outing “Fland Canyon,” sees the famous animated family drawn through multiple eras of Disney classics, from Steamboat Willie, to The Jungle Book and more. For his part, animator Eric Goldberg has actually worked on Aladdin, Pocahontas, Hercules, Fantasia 2000, The Emperor’s New Groove, Wreck-It Ralph, and even the upcoming Moana.

The episode itself sees Homer recalling a disastrous trip to the Grand Canyon with the Flanders family, but don’t expect any further Disney overtures. So reads the synopsis:

Homer recalls a tense family vacation to the Grand Canyon with the Flanders family. At first, the Flanders’ perfection puts the families at odds, but when they get stranded and Ned and Bart go for help, the families finally bond.

In the meantime, watch the Disney couch gag again above, and stay tuned for the latest Simpsons.
