Tekashi 6ix9ine Testifies That Cardi B Is Part of the Nine Trey Bloods Gang
Tekashi 6ix9ine's trial began earlier this week, and the rapper is showing that he has no problem throwing other rappers under the bus. During cross-examination on Thursday (September 19) the 23-year-old, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, testified that Cardi B is a member of the Nine Trey Bloods gang while explaining how he used his crew to help advance his career.
“You knew Cardi B was a Blood?" Hernandez's associate Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack attorney Alex Huot asked (via Page Six).
“Correct,” Tekashi replied.
“You know Cardi B made music videos with Bloods in the background?” Huot asked.
“Yes,” Tekashi replied.
He then denied using her method of using crew members in his videos to help climb the ladder of fame. “I knew who she was. I didn’t pay attention,” he told the court.
Cardi's Atlantic Records rep denied her involvement with the gang to Billboard; however, the rapper admitted she was associated with the Brims subset of the Bloods as a teenager during an interview with GQ last year.
"Here's the thing," she said. "I never really wanted to talk about that, because I always wanted a music deal. I always want to keep my endorsements. When I was 16 years old, I used to hang out with a lot of Bloods. I used to pop off with my homies. And they'd say, 'Yo, you really get it poppin'. You should come home. You should turn Blood.' And I did. Yes, I did. And something that—it's not like, oh, you leave. You don't leave.
"Stripping changed my life," she continued. "When I was a stripper, I didn't give a f**k about gangs, because I was so focused on making money."
