A long, warm autumn comes with some risk as over 1/3 of Montana is under a Fire Weather Watch on Thursday.

Fire Weather Watches have been issued for dangerous conditions in several northeast Montana counties because of high temperatures and very gusty winds.

The Bozeman area and several other counties may see dangerous winds on Thursday afternoon along with a Fire Weather Watch. Thankfully, the dangerous conditions shouldn't last more than a day.

Extreme caution should be used this weekend as temps rise back up to the 90s on Saturday with more gusty winds and continued low humidity. Fire danger is very high for nearly a dozen counties this weekend.

Very warm temperatures today across southwest Montana are contributing to very dangerous conditions in the Butte area. Watches and warnings have been an issue all week for most of the state.

Another wave of dangerous conditions for Montana: high temps, gusty winds and low humidity are prompting a Fire Weather Watch for several counties.

Shelby, Cut Bank, Browning and Conrad on the northern border are under a Fire Weather Watch for Friday with low humidity, high temps and gusty winds.
