Southwest Airlines announced on Thursday morning that it will start flight service out of Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. Flights will begin on May 27, 2021, with non-stop service to Las Vegas, NV, and Denver, CO, and will include same-plane or connecting service to and from more than 50 other Southwest cities.

“The Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Bozeman and Gallatin County welcome Southwest Airlines to southwest Montana. We LUV the fact that Southwest Airlines will be offering for the first time ease of access for Montanans to their great network”  said Daryl W. Schliem, Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.

Southwest's service out of Bozeman will begin with four flights a day and then go up to 6 flights with additional stops to be announced at a later date.

“Southwest’s reputation for low fares and great service will bring a new level of convenience and competition for all our travelers. We want to thank the Southwest team for making BZN a part of their network and all of our community partners who helped make it happen,” added Brian Sprenger, Airport Director.

This is Southwest Airlines 50th year, and they routinely carry the most domestic passengers of any airline in the U.S. For years, many area residents have been hoping that Southwest would be coming to Bozeman, and now with the new 4 gate terminal at BZN just completed in October of 2020, those dreams have become a reality.
