One of the best parts of the summer is getting a great group of friends together and floating the amazing rivers in Montana.

Montana State Parks released a memo that the Smith River State Park is now open for floaters.

The reason why it was closed was due to ice jams that were built up on the river.

If you do want to float the river you will need a permit before you head out.

Montana State Parks is asking people who had permits during the closure to contact them about rescheduling or cancellations.

This should just get everyone excited because soon the Madison, Yellowstone and many other gorgeous Montana rivers will be filled with people floating and enjoying their summer.
