It's not the first time that these 1 pound packs of Bob Evans sausage have been recalled due to foreign matter being found in the product.

Check your freezer for any of this well-known brand of sausage. According to the USDA announcement, Bob Evans Farms Foods has recalled some of it's Italian Pork Sausage products due to "foreign matter contamination".

The company received customer complaints that thin, blue pieces of rubber were found in some of the products. The raw, Italian pork sausage items were produced on September 8th, 2022. Further identifying details include:

  • 7,560 pounds of Italian pork sausage products are being recalled by Bob Evans Farms Foods.
  • These items were shipped to retail locations nation-wide.

  • Products in question have a  “USE/FRZ BY” date of 11/26/22, with a time stamp between 14:43 and 15:25.
  • 1-lb. chubs containing “Bob Evans Italian Sausage” with lot code XEN3663466

Thankfully, there have been no reports of adverse reactions of serious medical issues with this recall. The consumer reports of the blue, thin rubber fragments are the basis for the recall, NOT illness.

The announcement from the USDA was made on Friday, October 21st, 2022 and you can see the complete report on this recall on the USDA website. "Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase."
