Have Kids In The Car? Montana Has A New Law
Every parent should be aware of this news.
Montana Laws
It's never too late to learn something new about Montana.
Montana has some unusual laws that remain in effect today. You can't use your lasso while fishing, your sheep can't ride shotgun, and single women can't fish alone are all laws technically still in effect today.

One thing Montana doesn't mess around about is the safety of kids.
Several laws protect children in various situations, but there are a few that give parents the freedom to trust their children.
One law we've discussed is whether kids can ride in the front seat of a vehicle.
That law states kids need to be at least 13 years old to ride in the front seat, thanks to car safety mechanisms.
Other than that, the kids need to be in the back seat and buckled up, but Montana has further strengthened those laws.
Montana's New Child Seat Belt Law
It's all about safety.
KPAX reports that a new seat belt law is now in effect.
The bill has new details on how to put your children in the safest position during travel. One crucial part of the bill is that every car seat must meet federal motor vehicle safety standards.
The details clarify whether the booster seats need to be front or rear-facing, use internal harnesses, and how to age your kids out.
What about parents who don't follow these rules? Are there any penalties?
The bill didn't include any punishments. That doesn't mean there won't be. The government would need to create a new bill or law to figure out those details.

Keep your kids safe and learn these new laws.
