Chef Standards published the Most Bizarre Restaurants in Every State, and Montana's was an interesting choice.
The Polebridge Mercantile & Bakery was named the most bizarre restaurant in Montana.
Why? Chef Standards picked this spot because it's never changed. The building is rustic and transports you back to when Montana was more of a Wild West.
That doesn't make it bizarre. Many of Montana's restaurants have that vibe.
A restaurant that feels old isn't bizarre. That's character.
Are there bizarre restaurants in Montana?
There are a few that come to mind.
The Sip 'N Dip in Great Falls comes to mind instantly.
Why? It's a restaurant and bar with mermaids. Who wouldn't want to watch mermaids interact with customers as they enjoy a beverage and food?
The only other restaurant we would consider bizarre is The Bierstube in Whitefish. This bar sits on Whitefish Mountain Resort and feels a little out of place, being a wild German-style bar hall on an upscale ski hill.
