Montana’s National Parks Are Ranked, So Just How Well Did We Do?
Each year, folks from all over the world visit one or more of the amazing National Parks that we have across the United States. Of course, two of the most popular are located right here in Montana.
Both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks attract millions of people each year. When it comes to beauty, there is no doubt that both Parks are near the top, but what about overall ranking? You would think that both would be near the top, right?
Well, according to some recent data, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Travel Lemming came out with The Best US National Parks and used six different factors to determine their rankings:
- Crowds
- Reviews
- Weather
- Affordability
- Accessibility
- Biodiversity
Out of the 63 National Parks ranks, neither Yellowstone nor Glacier makes the Top 20.
Yellowstone ranks the higher of the two coming in at 23rd. The reason for such a low ranking? The weather, affordability, and accessibility were all factors when it came to determining the ranking of what many consider America's Favorite National Park
So what about Glacier National Park? How far down the list do we have to go to see that ranking?
Glacier National Park ranks as the 48th Best National Park. However, by taking a look at the different factors, it really is interesting. Glacier actually ranks 1st when it comes to best reviewed, it seems that the factors that are hurting the park come down to the same 3 factors that affect Yellowstone.
Weather, affordability, and accessibility.
While it's true that the weather limits the amount of time that both parks are open, and it's certainly not cheap to travel to Montana and visit either park, we're a little biased here in Montana and believe that you would be hard press to find anywhere in Montana, or the world for that matter more beautiful.
