Surprising Montana Town Lands On Odd Real Estate List
When you think of pricey real estate in Montana, a few places come to mind but not this spot.
Real estate is a touchy subject in Montana. People would love to live in certain places like Missoula or Bozeman but can't afford it because of the high prices. Over the past several years, the real estate market in Montana has been rising to insane prices, and only in the past two years has it slightly cooled off.
Many local Montanans have been priced out of affording homes where they grew up or wanted to start a family. When I first moved to Bozeman, prices of homes ranged from $250K to $400K, and now they average $800k per home. To see what the Bozeman real estate market has become is wild and heartbreaking.
So when I came across a list of towns with the priciest real estate, I was surprised not to see places like Bozeman or Missoula on the list, but one Montana town did land on the spot, and it's somewhere you wouldn't expect.
Media Feed made a list of American Towns With The Priciest Real Estate in the Country, and the town in Montana will blow your mind.
#17 on the list with the priciest real estate in the country is the quaint city of Kalispell, Montana. Kalispell sits in Northwest Montana at the north end of Flathead Lake and has been on the rise lately. Many national franchises have opened there, and many families move there for the beautiful landscape.
Kalispell landed on the list because they have a high percentage of homes priced at one million dollars or higher.
Kalispell used to be a place where housing was decently affordable, but now with the surge of residents moving into the area, the prices have skyrocketed.
We hope Kalispell doesn't become the new Bozeman with high-priced homes that force locals to move out to find another place to live.
We are surprised that more towns or cities in Montana didn't make this list.
