How To Watch The Meteor Showers In Montana’s Night Sky
The night sky is full of wonder.
Montana's Night Sky
We are called Big Sky Country for a reason.
There's nothing more magical than Montana's night sky any time of the year.
Depending on where you are, you can see stars, planets, satellites, and galaxies.
It just depends on the light pollution in your area.
The reason why Montana is perfect is because the sky seems massive on a clear night.
Montana's night sky has been busy lately.
There have been multiple occasions of the Northern Lights across Montana's night sky, and the comets have been fun to enjoy.
One of the best parts about these space events is you don't even need a telescope to enjoy them.
All you need is a blanket or chair and a spot to enjoy the show.
Well, now there are some other events you might want to check out.
Multiple Meteor Showers Heading to Montana
You might have to stay up a little later to enjoy these events.
USA Today reports that multiple meteor showers will occur over the next few months, and Montana is in a prime position to enjoy.
First, the Orionid meteor shower has started and will last until mid-November. The peak of the shower will happen on Sunday, October 20th.
The best time to watch will be after midnight until 3 AM. There will be over 20 meteors a minute shooting across the night sky.
Can't watch them? Don't worry!
The Leonids meteor shower will be heading our way in November, and then the Geminids and Ursids meteor shower will occur in December.
The best places to watch these meteor showers are in spots with little to no light pollution. Heading out of town would be the best course of action.
