Lt. Kent O'Donnell of the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office traveled to Normandy, France, this week for the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
O'Donnell apparently walked past many graves at the cemetery above Omaha Beach, Thursday, in search of a person from the state of Montana. After a bit of time he found what he was looking for, which turns out to be a very interesting piece of local history.
Thanks to the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office and Kent O'Donnell for sharing, and especially to Butte's Private Walter Choquette for being an American hero.
