Unless Game of Thrones is planning a dramatic return for Daario Naharis, our future seems painfully bereft of Michiel Huisman. Or at least it was, as Netflix now sets the fan-favorite star to lead its new series adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the ten-episode series re-imagines Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel with the tale of four people living in a decades-old mansion. Game of Thrones and Orphan Black alum Huisman will portray Steven Crane, the oldest sibling and a published writer of supernatural books.

Oculus and Absentia director Mike Flanagan will write, direct and executive produce the new series with Trevor Macy, Amblin TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. This is at least the third Haunting of Hill House adaptation, following the 1963 film version, and a 1999 adaptation that starred Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson and Lili Taylor.

There’s vague hope we’ll see Huisman on Game of Thrones again (or at least the final Orphan Black trip), but stay tuned for the latest on Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House in the meantime.
