Kanye West Approves of Nike’s Partnership With Colin Kaepernick
President Donald Trump may not be a fan of Nike's new Just Do It campaign with NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, but Kanye West approves.
The always outspoken Yeezy hopped on Twitter on Monday (Sept. 10) to share his thoughts about the campaign and commended Nike for giving Kap a voice, just like Adidas did for him. "I stand for giving everyone a voice," 'Ye tweeted. "Adidas giving me a voice and Nike giving Colin voice on a big business level makes the world a more advanced place."
Kanye also sent out another tweet after that, saying he loves when people receive support for using their voices. "Love vs. Fear I love when human beings are supported for using their voice," he wrote.
The Chicago rapper's post is a stark contrast from his "dragon energy" brother President Trump, who slammed the athletic brand on Sept. 7. "What was Nike thinking?" Trump tweeted. The commander-in-chief has also been critical of Kaepernick and other NFL players protesting during the national anthem, calling them "sons of bitches."
Up next for Kanye, the Windy City MC has teased a sequel to his 2011 collaborative album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne. On Sept. 8, the rapper tweeted that Watch the Throne 2 would be coming soon. Since the release of the original project, Yeezy and Hov's relationship soured, although the two seem to be on better terms now.
While it's uncertain who Kanye is working on the alleged sequel with, he was recently spotted in the studio with 6ix9ine. Pictures of the two working together eventually ended up online.
