Justin Timberlake Surprises ‘Selfie Kid’ Ryan McKenna on ‘Ellen’
Selfie Kid can't stop the feeling!
Ryan McKenna, the 13-year-old Patriots fan who went viral on Sunday (February 4) after taking a selfie with Justin Timberlake during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, got the surprise of his life Friday thanks to Ellen DeGeneres.
Appearing on Ellen, the pre-teen got the chance to "reunite" with Timberlake over the phone.
"It's nice to finally meet you," the pop star said over a speakerphone as the audience cheered and McKenna gasped.
Timberlake then gushed about the impromptu, now-iconic moment in which the two posed for an epic selfie as Timberlake closed his set with his Grammy-winning hit, "Can't Stop the Feeling."
"I knew that I wanted to end the performance with ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ 'cause I knew how people respond to that song," the singer shared, before gifting McKenna and his family tickets to his Man of the Woods Tour stop in Massachusetts.
"I look forward to our second selfie together," Timberlake promised.
McKenna also received an NFL Patriots prize pack, including tickets to upcoming games
As for the memorable televised selfie moment, McKenna revealed that he wasn't initially sitting in the spot where JT stopped, and that he had to push his way through to get to Timberlake.
"I was elbowing people but I got there. I was there with him," he said.
As for all those memes that were made after the photo went viral? McKenna shared that he's well aware of them, and finds them funny.
