Last summer, we had it pretty good in Montana. Temperatures were warm, but not too hot start. However, things changed tin the middle of July. A heatwave gripped the state, and some places saw record-breaking temperatures.

On the plus side, Montana residents didn't get smoked out because there weren't as many wildfires.

According to the Weather Channel's Temperature Outlook Map last year, the summer weather predictions for 2024 were fairly accurate. Montana was expected to experience above-normal temperatures, and that's exactly what happened.

It sounds like this summer is going to be as hot, if not hotter than last year. The Weather Channel just released a new summer temperature outlook for 2025, and scorching temperatures are forecasted for Montana.

The outlook goes through August, and summer temperatures in the Treasure State are expected to be well-above average, with below-average precipitation. The map shows Montana completely shaded in maroon, and the northern Rockies will be one of the driest parts of the country.

Montanans will begin feeling the heat as early as June, and July and August could produce additional record-breaking temperatures across the state. The east coast is predicted to get more rain than normal. We wish they would send some of it our way.

The hot temperatures and lack of moisture could mean a devastating fire season for Montana.
