Is Montana a good place to call home?

Yes, Montana can be quite brutal for a large part of the year, but it's also a beautiful place to call home. The scenery is breathtaking, and for those who enjoy being outdoors, it's an absolute wonderland.

WalletHub looked at a handful of factors to determine which states were the best to call home, including the following:

  • Affordability
  • Economy
  • Education and Health
  • Quality of Life

As we discussed earlier, there are certainly many states cheaper than Montana, but when you combine all of the other factors, Montana makes the Top 20.

With a combined overall score of 55.21, Montana is ranked 15th out of 50 for the best states to call home. Oh, and if you were curious, the top spot goes to Massachusetts with the combined overall score of 60.21.

Some of Montana's neighbors ranked high as well. Idaho came in 2nd overall, while Wyoming is ranked 11th on the list. When you look at the breakdown, Montana is ranked 27th out of 50 for affordability, but we're 2nd for Economy, 12th for Education and Health, and 33rd for Quality of Life.
