Montana’s Glacier National Park Looks To Be A Hot Spot For 2026
I realize we are still a few month from summer, but before you know it, it will be vacation season here in Montana.
Now, folks seem to have mixed feelings when it comes to this. There are several locals who enjoy all that Montana offers during the summer months, and maybe a little staycation is just what the doctor ordered. Then there are all the tourists that make their way to Big Sky Country.

"Tourist season" can be a bit of a challenge with all of the RVs and travelers on the roads. Not only are the interstates packed, but so are the towns. Here in Bozeman, you can spot them pretty easy as they invade the downtown area and all of our hotels.
Now, don't get me wrong, I realize that tourist season equals big bucks for retail stores and the state's economy, but the question is, where are these people going?
One doesn't have to have a high IQ to know that the two most popular spots for tourists are Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. I mean, what's not to love? One is settled on top of the worlds largest super volcano and the other has one of the most popular roads in the world running through it.
People will debate on which one is better, and I have my opinion, but it should be noted that for 2026, Glacier is off to an impressive start.
According to Travel Guard, the search for vacations to Glacier National Park are up over 20 percent compared to last year. What does that mean? Well, it makes Glacier National Park the 9th most searched spot for those on a budget.

It should be noted that while the interest is up, there are construction projects happening in Glacier that might hinder your travel and your plans. However, The majority of the Park will be good to go, including the iconic Going To The Sun Road.
