Montana State Football To Visit White House To Meet President Trump

In the tradition of winning a National Championship, the Montana State Bobcat Football team got to meat with President Trump today at the White house in Washington, D.C.

Now, before all the nasty comments come, I believe it's an honor to meet a President, no matter who they are, and this will no doubt be a once in a lifetime experience for these players. I mean, how many of us can say that we were invited to the White House and had a meeting the the sitting President of the United States?

Oh, and it should be mentioned that the meeting is scheduled for today (July, 29th)

Of course, the invite comes on the heels of the Bobcats winning the FCS National Championship down in Nashville this past January when they beat Illinois State 35 to 34 in overtime in what was one of the greatest football games in recent memory.

So, what happens when a team is invited to the White House after winning the big game?

Traditionally, there is a meeting on the South Lawn or in the White House itself where the President praises the team and their accomplishments. Normally, the Team will then present the President with a team jersey with a special number on it, representing the linage of the President. Pictures are taken with the team, and there is a big hoopla.

According to the Google, often the sitting President will give the players a small gift for them to remember their visit as well.

In the past, President Trump has offered a "Fast Food Buffet" for the players, so we shall see if that is still a thing. Either Way, what a great honor for the MSU Bobcats and it's certainly the icing on the cake for a Championship year.
