The holidays are a time to get together with family and friends.

Growing up, Christmas in the house of John and Diane was different from the traditional Christmas get-togethers. While many families would travel to be with loved ones, once we all landed on the naughty list and Santa stopped coming by, we would open up everything on Christmas Eve, and then Christmas Day would be the stuff of nightmares.

My brother and I would awake to yelling. Sometimes it was my Mother, mostly it was my Father, and they would be yelling over something about the Holiday Meal. "Don't do that!" "That's not the way it goes!" "What are you doing?!?" "Get out of my way, you're doing it wrong!"

I suppose there might be some truth to that. Especially if you have someone to share the driving duties with. Plus, you can pull over and stretch your legs, have as many snacks as you want, and turn up the music.
