For many, there's an allure about being a cowboy.

For many generations, being a cowboy had a certain romantic feel, mixed with a bit of danger and adventure. However, it seemed that time had passed this honored tradition by, then that one show about that one family living in Montana became popular.

All of a sudden, being a cowboy was cool again. The idea of riding a horse, working with the animals, and putting in long hours was something that folks wanted to experience, even if just for a few days.

Which states have the most cowboys?

While the numbers are lacking, Around The World has come out with America's Most Cowboy States, and you probably won't be shocked to learn that Montana has made the list.

The Hell's A-Roarin' Horse Drive

The Hell’s A-Roarin’ Horse Drive happens every Memorial Day weekend in Gardiner, Montana, as hundreds of horses are driven from the rodeo grounds up to the mountain town of Jardine. Hosted by Susan and Warren Johnson of Hell’s A-Roarin’ Outfitters, this Western tradition honors veterans and supports them in a meaningful way. All net proceeds from the event’s live auction go toward purchasing Action Trackchairs—custom, all-terrain wheelchairs that help disabled veterans regain their freedom and access to the outdoors. It’s a powerful mix of community, heritage, and heartfelt purpose.
