Sometimes you come across something that just makes you scratch your head.

Perfect example, I was reading through social media and I saw that the University of Montana page posted about how they were in the running for Best College Sports Town by USA Today. They were encouraging Griz fans to vote, which apparently you can do once a day.

I mean, wouldn't you think in order to be the "best sports town" you should probably beat your in-state rival? Never mind your in-state rival just happens to be the reigning, defending, National Champions in football. Of course, on their way to that victory, they not only beat you on your turf, then beat you again on theirs.

I'm no pro, but if you lost twice in one year to the other guys, I'm not sure that qualifies you to be the best at anything.

Oh, and then there is basketball. Looking up the records, it looks like Montana State sweep both the Men and Women in Basketball. So, just so I'm clear. Montana lost in football to MSU and in basketball to MSU, but they want to be voted the best sports town in America?

Ok.

Listen, I'm not trying to start a fight here, but it seems that not only is the University of Montana and Missoula not the best sports town in America, they're not the best sports town in the state. Facts matter.

Oh, and remember a few years back when Missoula was fighting hard to get ESPN's GameDay to come to Missoula, of course, they didn't...but they did come to Bozeman the next year and the hosts said it was their favorite stop of the year.

I realize that me pointing this out won't keep Griz fans from voting, and it shouldn't. I know some very passionate fans of the University of Montana and they're wonderful people and great friends.

However, let's be honest. If you're going to pick the best sport town in America, you should probably go with a winner.
