Regular Camping Not Your Style? Try Glamping in Montana
If you live in Montana—or are just visiting Big Sky Country—it's pretty safe to assume you have at least some interest in the great outdoors, especially camping. But let's be honest, "camping" means something different to everyone and should be viewed on a spectrum.
For folks like me, it might be as simple as a foam pad and a sleeping bag under the stars—or maybe the luxury of a tent if we're feeling fancy. For others, it's a full-blown RV setup with all the comforts of home: gas fireplace, private bathroom, slide-out walls, and a queen-size mattress.
Whether you prefer roughing it or leaning into the luxury, Montana has options for every style of camper. And if you're the type who wants the beauty of nature with a side of comfort, here are some of the best "glamping" spots in Montana worth checking out.
Under Canvas
Ok, I will have to admit, I have stayed at a Under Canvas before and it was absolutely phenomenal. There are 3 locations you can choose from in Montana: West Yellowstone, Paradise Valley, and Glacier.
The canvas tents are built on wooden platforms, have plush beds, a woodburning stove, and showers. The tents are set-up in like a little community and their is typically a local fire pit, 24 hr reception desk, and dinning area.
Airstream Camper
If you prefer solid walls and staying in one of the coolest campers ever made, this Airbnb overlooking Flathead Lake is right up your alley. Not only does it offer stunning views of the lake, but you'll also get a front-row seat to the Mission Mountains—plus it's nestled among cherry and apple trees. Honestly, it sounds like pure Montana paradise.
Tipi Experience
Located in Gardiner, Montana, this tipi glamping experience is pretty darn awesome. If you're not familiar with Gardiner, it sits just above the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park—so if you're looking for a basecamp near some of the most iconic spots in the West, this is it.

The Yellowstone Tipis aren't your average canvas tents either. These are upgraded with the option of a king bed or two queen beds, plus Wi-Fi to keep you connected (if you want to be). And if you're wondering about the bathroom situation—no worries. Each guest gets their own private bathroom, so you don't have to rough it too much.
